Great lines to that gun...I think Pop will have that very gun in the near future, with a 2.5-8x or a 3-9x...

Love, love, love my .280. Hate, hate, hate the ammo prices and availability.

I have a pair of x-bolts. A hunter model in 30-06 that has a Leupold VX3 1.75-6x on top. The other is a micro hunter in 7mm-08. That one has a 2-7x Vortex Diamondback scope.

I see the X bolt Micro is only available in 270WSm and 22-250 now???
Micro Midas still comes in 7-08, but then you are dealing with the high gloss shalac finish that Browning uses on their better wood offerings...and it sucks.

I have not found a need to update my rifle yet. However mine is an A-bolt micro hunter in .270WSM. When I purchased the gun in 2005 or 2006 it was only available in .243, 270WSM and 300WSM if I remember correctly

The X bolt Micro Midas has a little over an inch shorter length of pull than than X bolt hunter. I am going to point him towards the Hunter...

have him take a look and shoulder both if possible. Looked like he was carrying a Mannlicher stock rifle in this seasons pics, he might like the compact feel of the Micro Midas. Just a thought. For myself as I get older I would lean toward the lighter compact setup.

I think that is what I have Dan. Mine is a compact or something or other. 20 inch barrel in 7mm 08. Nice little unit with the Leupold, though I hardly use it. Good rifle for my wife and hopefully my kids down the road. Love the clip and ease of the action. Not sure I have had a smoother bolt.

Pop threw me a curve ball! He loves Mannlicher stocks and found a 1993 manufacture Ruger 77 Mark II Intrrnational with Mannlicher stock. It appears to have never been fired and is truly in immaculate condition. The guy from the small shop says it came from a guy who has a large collection and always has a gun or two on consignment there. We're waiting on a Leupold,VXII 3-9x and a Vero Vellini sling to round out the gun.....

Chambered in what cartridge? I've seen the Ruger RSI's for sale in .243, 250 Savage, .308 Winchester and I can't remember what else.
