VIDEO- My wife’s first deer, what a start!

My wife is fairly new to hunting and her first deer was an amazing experience that I was lucky enough to get on camera. She has since taken some turkeys and ducks but another buck is what she has her mind set on. Unfortunately a really nice buck narrowly slipped by this season. There is nothing better than hunting with her! thanks for watching!

Too funny! We will never forget that day!! She had a really close encounter with another dandy opening day this year. I had a good shot but was committed to the camera. All he had to do was take a few steps further and well…. Never happened lol maybe next year! She’s hooked anyways- Lives for it now. I couldn’t be happier!

jeezus, he's a goer huh? Those slopes were STEEP. I hope I can mountain goat like that when I'm 73. What elevation do you hunt at generally there?

Lol yes he is. His handle on the cb is ridge runner for a reason. We hunt the mountains around Phoenicia NY usually between 1500 and 2000 feet. Doesn’t sound like much but like you said it’s steep with lots of ledges. Thanks again for watching and commenting I appreciate it!

I believe I see you’re from Vermont way? He used to do those primitive biathlons in Vermont with snowshoes and muzzle loaders. Fun times!!

Thats pretty cool. Yup, I'm in VT. I don't know if they still do those at all but I remember them from when I was a kid. The guy we used to sell our pelts to used to compete in them, if I remember right.

We did one in Smuggler’s Notch and a couple more further South. I forget the names. Our best hunting buddy is also from Vermont! Stay well and hope you catch some fur this winter if you still trap-
