I am finding a mixed opinions on thread sealant on scope bases and rings? What everyones views. I track and still hunt and always moving so i dont want anything to come loose. My father always put some on, but a guy at a sports shop said to never put any on the rings. Online its mixed. Ive always done it like my father and put a little on and turned screws tight with a screw driver or allen wrench

Not sure exactly what you are calling thread sealant but I degrease everything, add a drop of blue loctite, tighten down and call it good. I believe ultimately the key is to degrease.

Blue loctite on base, nothing on rings. Ring screws are easy to check, base screws you can't get at. I have never found a ring screw loose.
