I don’t use a slate or pot call very often. With that being said the best striker I ever had was a rose wood with a balsam top the had cross cuts in the top. I lost it some years ago and can’t find another. I mostly use my diaphragm, box call and the slate if I can’t jack a bird up with the others.

I have a glass call that was given to me years ago, so not a ton of experience with them tobe completely fair. I feel like I move too much while using them.

Every striker has its place. That said my favorites are all wood but sometimes a carbon is what it takes to get a bird to answer.
