It’s been snowing pretty heavily for more than 24 hours but we probably only have 3 or 4 inches. I had to brush off my truck this morning but I’m coping.

Went on generator at 730am yesterday and came off at 3am today
19" and it was still snowing when I left for work at 545 this morning.
pic of table was taken at 2:00 yesterday. Deck pic was at 5pm
I would guess at different times we were getting 2 to 3 inches per hour.

Ended up with 8" here. Top 4 inches not as wet and heavy as the bottom 4". Took 2 hours to clean out the yard this morning as I broke 2 shear pins out near the road where the town plow filled in the driveway with snow, mud and rocks. I should have done that part with a shovel and will next time.

Sheer pins are a lot less painful than back problems. I'd keep snowblowing.

Seems like the storm totals varied wildly, even across short geographic distances. I’m just over a mile from Browseline and got half of what he did. 20 miles south they got 20” in places. A few degrees difference in temperature made quite a bit of difference.

The temperature hovered around freezing all day at my house. No rain here but my sister is a half mile away ( between your house and mine) and got some rain. She ended up with 4.5 inches of snow. Elevation at her house is about 606 ft, My house is at 909 ft and yours is about 711 ft according to Google earth. It will go fast I hope.

I’m selling lumber now instead of installing it. 😜. I got me an office chair, desk, phone and computer now. It’s been a much warmer and more enjoyable winter.
You better watch your diet. Office chairs help out on weight pretty easy.

And can you tell me why concrete wire went from $100 a 150’ roll to $250 in the past two years?? I guess I have to figure out a different plan for caging young apple trees.

In Cheshire County we had 20” of wet heavy slop all day long. It compressed as it came down. Lost power all day. Lots of trees down again. All the gas stations and restaurants were closed and Verizon was throttling data most of the day. The wood stove kept the house warm all day. Cooked an omelet on it.

There must’ve been a lot of wind to make these snowballs out of wet snow.

I had good results with something called”DEER OFF” last year. Had a a doe ravaging my 2 young apple trees after I removed the puny cages I made around them. Got tired of having to open them up for trimming the grass inside them. Shortly after I noticed the trees were heavily browsed and the top of one was broken in half. I put some DEER OFF around both and hung a camera nearby…sure enough the culprit came back to finish the trees off but after a sniff, walked away. They weren’t bothered the rest of the season. Hopefully the trees come back okay. (I did repair the break with some grafting tape and it held pretty well.
