Sabiki rig question

I got a Sabiki rod for my grandson. Maybe some of you have tried these. I am putting a Penn reel on it for jigging. Not much of a fisherman myself, but just curious about what hook size rig to purchase that will work smoothly in that rod. Any other tips appreciated. Mostly for mackerel. Thank you

I'm sure that there are far more knowledgeable people on here but we used the rigs with size 6 and 8 hooks. We did not have sabiki rods.

I was a cheap bugger and often times cut the rig in half and set them up that way. I also used to buy the really cheap rigs (Marden's and the like). Never had much of an issue keeping the kids happy and we let most of the mackerel go anyway.
