Ontario 2014

Well there is not much good news in this thread....3 of us headed to NW Ontario for year 10. 2 weeks.... It was kinda a SAD two weeks.....the past two bad winters took their toll in there were not many deer left.....I saw two young 8 pointers that I passed on....we saw a few does and that was about it....there was not many deer left.....the good news was the wolves are down too...we had just enough snow to see tracks to tell us the story.....

tony found a winter kill rack of a 10 pointer....what a nice buck....

areas that had 10 to 20 old rubs had not one track....


did some fun 4 wheeling....went deeper and farther than we ever have......

The deer will be back...in town where you cant hunt is loaded so they will move north ....Deer camp was still a blast...ate great had a blast....

the good news is we slayed them in maine but that is another post.....here are some pics.....

winterkill...this was about 140 inches found in a bog with some bones....winter or wolf kill might of been both

Hunted Ontario for years. Still an adventure just getting there and being there. Hopefully the herd will rebound. One of the best places to hunt. Nice pics.

Good post Scott, we passed on Ontario this year. Three friends have gone ten years straight for two weeks. After three days, they drove to Jackman. I agree, that as long as the habitat remains intact the herd will recover quickly.
