I never checked Lowes, but it is definitely a regular stocking item at Home Depot. That's where I would get them. Can't beat $2.50 for 10 of them.

Edit, the Lowes variant. Also appears to be a regular stocking item.

I don't know what to tell you. Our Lowes had a wall of O rings with the largest being a #36. They did not have any Danco rings at all. I asked the clerk and they did not stock any larger.

Home Depot is about 3 hours away.

That's odd. What Lowes were you shopping?

That would be my type of luck, sounds like you have great luck as well haha.

I trust box store employees about as far as I can throw them. To save time, I usually order online for store pickup, that way you don't have to look for it. Maybe something was put back on the wrong hook or something and was hiding the 40s? Since Presque Isle shows they are supposed to have 6, I would place an online pick up in store order and they should fulfill it. Someone will find them.

Sucks you couldn't find them.

I was in the Presque Isle store and they did not have them nor did they have any Danco rings. They had a wall full of O rings, in plastic bags, containers, and loose. I even asked the clerk if they may be in another location. He said no.

Place an online order for store pickup and someone will find them. They should have 7 of them. I'm betting they are shoved behind something, aren't where they are supposed to be, aren't restocked correctly etc.

I'm not replacing mine. Just shove a little piece of foam between the barrel and front of slide and it does not rattle. Pops right out if you pump it.

That foam idea is interesting.

I'm sure I can find an O ring at a local hardware store. Just happened to be in PI and stopped at Lowes. Was surprised they were not there but who knows.....

The size may have been posted already, but for anyone trying to match it up that can't find the Danco #40s, it's a 3/4 OD, 5/8 ID, 1/16 O-ring. You may also have luck in the parts bins at the smaller mom/pop hardware stores. I know the one where I worked in HS in Jackman used to have 2 or 3 drawers of various size O-rings.

I was thinking spray foam would work good too. Just kidding. Good luck finding your O rings.

How much slop are we talking here to believe the o ring is bad? Both my pumps rock a little bit in my hand which is evident watching the pump arms as I’ll call them move in unison. Maybe a 1/16th of an inch of movement. Both are the same.

Mine rattles enough to keep any toddler amused.

When you depress the button to move the slide, it slides 3/4 of the way down on its own.

Im guessing mine are fine. I can shake the gun and there is no noise. Basically have to rock the pump side to side to feel a little play which I bet is just part of the tolerances.

I must have no O ring. If I hold it vertically and press the slide button it cycles all the way. Oh well.
