I purchased a non res huting license online last week.
When I printed it out there wasn't a deer tag included.
I know some states have them in their hunting guide.
Is this true with Maine?
My license was $115, which I assumed included deer.

I usually stop in at L.L. Cotes for a green heavy duty transportation tag. They will give you a couple. Or you can make one yourself with your name, address, the year and license number.

You print your own Maine tags. There should of been a link for you to print the transport tags when you bought the license.

I think there is another link on the Maine F+G site too

I ran into that the first year I hunted Maine, only noticed there was no tag when I had a deer on the ground. I just wrote my license number, name, date of kill, etc on a piece of paper and attached it to the deer. They didn’t say anything when I weighed it but they barely looked it over. Probably the same weigh station you would hit if you are hunting out of your camp in NH.

Your non-res big game license includes deer. As others have pointed out, you can make your own tag that goes on in the field. Anything works. Logging tape with your info to an official looking tag.

I usually stop into a Walmart and they will give you the green waxy more durable ones. Also a plastic pouch to keep them dry.

I print them with name, addr and license #
Then cover them with packing tape and a small washer for the hole.
Wire tie in the pocket, good to go.
