Anyone getting a high pressure sales “type” pitch by phone for donating to NH State Troopers?
Kind of suspicious sounding with the high pressure talk to go “bronze”(100) “silver” (200) or “gold” (300?)but when I asked If I could donate less, they cut it back to $50. Supposedly they are mailing me an envelope. They had my name and number. I will contact the State police headquarters tomorrow to see if it’s legit.

My wife received the same calls. She verbally committed to donating. I’ve tossed all 3 letters that have shown up in the dump. I have all the respect in the world for law enforcement, but I was under the impression their budgets were paid via tax dollars. We’ve already donated with that being the case.

In the guy’s spiel, he said that a lot of the fundraising dollars go to helping families of troopers injured or killed on duty., etc. I have had these calls before this year too. I’ll see if it shakes out with the call to headquarters tomorrow.’

I’d be willing to bet that a donation gets you a little sticker to put on your car that shows you’ve supported them. :D

If I remember right my 95 year old father in-law got solicited by a police group several times. They tried making out they were for NH state police but, it turns out they were out of Texas. We put the kybosh on him giving any more to them but, they still call. I bet you less then 20% of your donation makes it to your police if any. They still call 3-4 times a month but, now he doesn’t answer.

Yeah…what bothers me is the high pressure sales pitch to donate what “they” want you to…no one dictates to me what I give. I will call the SP headquarters when I receive the mail/donation envelope and see what gives.

I get calls like this all the time. I don't think any of them is legit. Besides, why is it that its always the unionized government employees (police, fire teachers) looking for a handout? I never get calls from auto mechanics, bakers, or oil rig workers looking for money on top of the taxes I already pay.

I've actually donated to them in the past, my dad was a NH trooper in his younger days so I felt it was appropriate. But about 3 years ago is when I got the phone call that made me stop. Very pushy and to a point down right argumentative. So I told them to pound sand in a few other words! Never checked the legitamacy of the phone call, but I'd be interested to see what you get for a response?

Haven’t received an “envelope” in the mail from them yet…may be a scam.

Well, their fundraiser looks legit. The “Troopers assoc” even had a survey about the company that solicits the donations with a direct number to call with questions and/or concerns.

I had my wife look the “association” on Assbook…seems I would be donating to a “NH trooper’s UNION”
“F” that! I’m no union supporter and in 2020 these bozos supported a democrat for NH Governor…DOUBLE “F…Y”

What return address did they provide for you to mail a payment?

I see no reference to phone call solicitation on the fundraiser page. I’d still be skeptical of sending anything over the phone or to an address that isn’t referenced on that website. Scammers can scam and look legit. I’d give them a call at 603-856-7351 and see if they’re calling people for donations.

It was a Bedford, NH address. I already threw the material away.
It is a legit fundraiser but I’ll be damned if donate $$ to any f’n Union. Especially since they endorsed a democrat for gov.
Sun King Sununu is no prize but he stands with gun owners (so far)

Why send any of these morons money? If you want to donate, look up the group for yourself. I never give money to groups that cold call me.
I’ve had troopers come to my house a couple times…once was for my alarm system which I tripped myself before I could reset it, it called out. (one horses/cop town) the trooper showed up a couple days later but was polite and respectful.
The other time was recently when a pair of troopers drove up my driveway when I was walking the dog…they got out and approached me and asked if “my name was Tom”
I replied NO but realized that we bought our house from a guy named Tom 10 years ago. When I told them that, the seemed puzzled so I invited them in so i could get them a more recent address for “Tom” as he had sent us letters asking if we would sell the house back to him and he made an offer. My wife kept that letter and we gave the troopers the guy’s last known address. They were appreciative and very polite and professional. I figured I would give them a donation to support them but changed my mind after I found out I would be paying their UNION. F that.
