Well to help ease my depression over my unsuccessful Maine trip, I picked up this rifle. 1972, 760 BDL in .308, Redfield 2x7, sling, case, scope covers and 50 rounds of ammo.

Older gentleman bought it new in 72 and shot some Maine bucks with it, biggest was #230.

It's in great shape and always wanted one with the basket weave checkering.

Nice rifle! The older ones look a lot more "rugged" than the newer.

Yes, pricey and not my favorite caliber for Maine hunting, but that's a thread in it's self!

Roger that, just something different. .308 seem a little harder to come by reasonable than the 06, you got a real nice find there.

Oh yah! Nice one.....

I just happened upon another 760 in 06. It was cut to carbine length. Also got me a brand new 7600 in 06 as well. Both with Williams peeps.

Thanks, I figured a 7600 synthetic and wood would swap out. I saw a real nice 760 BDL stock and fore end for sale, I wonder if it would fit on my synthetic 7600?

I believe it will fit. I plan to swap mine out also.

Southern NH or anywhere else that only allows shotguns.

I already have a Browning Silver slug gun in 12ga with synthetic stock , a Rem 1187 12 slug gun , A Rem 1187 20ga slug gun, And an Rem 870 slug gun.

The one I bought has a beautiful stock . I wanted it !

That's quite an assortment, but you are missing the classic of classics. Ithaca Deerslayer. I can shoot 4 inch groups with it at 200 yards.https://ithacagun.com/product/deer-slayer-iii/

Nice Roger. How many do you have now?
Well I think I'm up to 7? Can never have enough. You know exactly what I mean. Right?
I will get a photo posted when I come back from out west on vacation. You know all work and no play makes me a dull boy!

I am going to guess you have 6 now?

I have these plus the single pic of the one I just bought. Probably sell one of the 35 Whelen carbines at some point.

Can’t tell from the picture, but is that the Redfield widefield 2-7? If so, that is a fantastic scope. Had one on a Ruger 77 years ago. Wish I never sold both. Anyway, the stocks are compatible, sometimes the older stock bearing plates are a little thicker than the newer ones. Just switch them out if the buttstock doesn’t sit flush to receiver.
