Morning waterfowl hunt.

Sarah wanted to go duck hunting this weekend so Friday afternoon I did a little scouting and found a couple spots. We got to the launch about 5 this morning and were greeted by thick fog. I used a compass and the OnX app to navigate through the pea soup to the closer of the spots.
We set up my portable blind on shore and put out a couple dozen decoys.
Including a dozen cork blacks and mallards that my late uncle Bob made in the early 70’s. I brought them mostly for luck.
It was tough in the fog, ducks were there and gone before you knew it.
Eventually we managed 3 black ducks, a mallard and a pintail. Not a bad morning and I don’t get to hunt with Sarah like I used to, she’s working as an RN now and working on her doctorate degree so she doesn’t have a lot of free time.

Very nice! I remember hunting the Lac St Pierre marshes in Quebec with my wife’s duck hunter, uncle many moons ago…the black duck was a prize for them as they were known for their tenacious will to escape after being hit!
You have numerous “prizes” to have such a great daughter! Well done!
