Smooth Sailing to the CA Boarder, Nice Weather , Clear Skies....I didn't wash my truck prior to leaving ....

With good weather to fly ,A 0630 Show time for a 0730 take off time, We were on before 0730 and hit the Island before 0800. Earliest I ever hit the Island

Made it to the Island by 8 to sit down with the locals for breakfast


First morning , a Full moon

First Morning, Chase or I didn't get a Shot at a Deer, Not very Many were taken first day



Chase shot a Doe for the Guide with the 7-08 - Then Dad shot an 8 point on the Second Day......With the Winter Kill for the year previous, 6's or better were going down





3rd day , dad played guide for Chase as he need to fill 2 tags... 0730 I spotted this 3 ppoint at 80-90 yrds , Chase had a 3 foot hole to shoot into and dropped him.

He was pumped and I got " Love you Dad and Hug" All good!!!

After that we rode and did some still hunts , seeing doe after doe

Afternoon around 2:30 pm we spot a 4 pt on the move to the Beach, while on the wheeler, I say to Chase you want him. He says Yes...I say Ok !

Off the wheeler run to a blow down and set for a 110 yrd shot....Chase cleaned out the heart on this 4....and another pumped kid and another I love you Dad and a hug....Dad is on Cloud 9!!! What a felling watching your boy take care of business!!!

A good 3rd day to be a Dad and Chases hunting partner!!







Back at camp....Cracked a HT

Last day , Dad has to fill a tag as well as 4 others...I took this 8 around noon.....In the Pic is Chase's Uncle from Iowa that came along this year...Despite the winter kill from year previous wee still saw a 100 deer total for the 4 days, and we had a great time being together.

Last day of hunting it started to Snow Heavy....everyone done by 1pm....next morning we are off to Airport , but we are stranded at new hotel restaurant until 8:30 pm



Some cards and Lunch and Dinner and mess around with the local deer herd before we fly out
