well first night is in the books. hunted from the ground tonight we my decoy on some turnips or something green. farmer planted as a ground cover and deer are hammering it. did jump good buck nice cave on hos head.
got to stand around 5. had small buck come in to challenge decoy. had couple other small deer come in but nothing crazy.
just got back from hanging stand in the dark for tommorow morning. exhausted time for some sleep.

day 2
just at first light here deer walking. sounded like good deer. big deer buck gait. barely caught site of horns. could not tell how could...but looked like decent one. hunting in a doe bedding area. slipped in right on the edge. same set killed 2009 buck in. not long after he left caught glimpse of another buck. 100" 2yr old. he is still out in front of me. as he starts to come turn around 2 does are. coming back to bed. they walked directly under my stand.
wicked spot for calling. thick on ground deer have come investigate if they come to calls.

day 3
wow just had a mega giant within range could not get a shot. it was the booner from the couple of years. he has shrunk a bit. still probably gross 170+. stickers heavy mass. wow in awe. right behind him was 130. lass 8 of. 3 yr old. he looked like a shrimp lol.
moved into a climber this morning because of the n wind. right on edge of doe bedding. overcast and in the 40's awesome day to be on stand. tad windy. saw a doe head back to bed. than look up and see horns. grunted deer pops head up and disappears. I see doe moving with other deer moving above her higher on the hill. when he popped out and started rubbing a tree bout fell out of my stand.
doe walked right in front of my set. perfect shot. thought it was going to happen. here he comes. cuts in back of me right behind cedar and stands there. 3 yds from me 12 ft off ground. doe takes him away no shot. to thick.

back stand by three. hunting from the ground with decoy. back same area hunting green cover crop. hoping to see the does using this more. so far not a lot of deer activity on this food source. big buck from this morning ended following doe into timber that abuts this field. really hoping she decides to feed here tonight. she was not all that hot because other buck was not hot on her trail. he cut her track and then proceeded to get ok big buck track.
deer movement in general is slow. guys not seeing much. deer not getting hit by traffic. never saw a deer after first encounter this morning.
