Leupold FX II Ultralight

Hi everyone-I haven't been on here for a while. I hope all are well. I am kicking around the idea of installing a Leupold FX-II Ultralight 2.5x20 mm on my 7600 carbine in 30-06. The scope can be found here Just wondering if anybody has used this set up? I was thinking of this or a dot sight for still hunting/tracking. I can't use a peep...I have never been great with it and my eyesight isn't what it used to be! Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

I have that scope on my 35 Rem set up like the below pic. The scope is really light and a good option if you want a little more magnification then a red dot. I think it would fit really nicely on a 7600. The eyepiece on the scope is a little smaller than most scopes but if you set it up right it's not a big deal.

yea i was wondering about eye relief with the 20mm....but that looks perfect for my carbine.

I've used a 2x on a Remington 1100. Great for most shots, but not my first choice.

I would go with a 2x7 x33mm. VX Freedom 2x7x33. It's 6 oz heavier than the one you are looking for. (nothing). Or you could go with a VX3 in the same power for more money and better glass.

If you wanted smaller and lighter, only 3 oz heavier than what you are looking at. (nothing). You could go with a 1x4x20mm, or others in that smaller size. (https://www.leupold.com/scopes/compact-scopes/vx-3i-1-5-5x20mm) Or, a cheaper VX Freedom 1.5x4x20mm.

I like the higher magnification to be able to pick holes thru brush/trees on longer shots and identification. You could have a big buck moving thru the brush at 100 yards and have a problem with ID and picking a hole to shoot thru the brush with the 2.5X. Or a bedded buck that you have been tracking and have to make a shot thru a small opening at 100 yards. Going to be tough with 2.5X.

I have that scope , had it mounted on a Savage 99. I mostly hunt from tree stands so a saving a few ounces didn't matter. I changed it out for a 2 X 7. Only hunted with it 3 - 4 times. If you want to buy it no rasonable offer refused.

I've got one on a 375 Marlin , using an Ashley Performance Mount .
I hunt with a 336 30-30 using a peep , but I see the day when a scope will probably be necessary .
So because my 30-30 is not drilled for a scope and I had a 375 gathering dust I looked around and found this set up to be the least offensive to me.
Short/light , low on the barrel , clear of the hammer with lots of eye relief.
