why would removing or not removing the nuts matter at all in the taste?

Its not absolutely neccessary but it makes it a lot easier to clean out everything else in the pelvic area.

I hunted with some guys from Princeton, Maine back in the 80's who said they would taint the meat if they weren't cut out but I never saw that happen. I even have a chinese guy who comes in the yard and collects all the nuts. He says they're some sort of male enhancer, kind of like viagra LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
haha, Male enhancer..... people wonder whats in enzyte!!!... I never remove the junk in the field, always left it on, never tainted the meat, its impossible to since the blood is no longer circulating. evicerate, get bladder, cut out cornhole is the order for me.

What a great post! The only thing I can add is that I hang the rib cage and leg bones with a piece of wire up in a tree out of reach of any coyotes in back of the house. Blue jays, other birds and squirrels love it. I guess this wouldn't work very well if you live in a city.
