I never had an interest in turkey hunting until recently. Now I need to find some to hunt. I have very little info to go on to find them. I have seen flocks in years past during the summer months and fall months, is this a good starting point? What am I looking for as far as areas to scout for turkey. Will old info do me? I am gonna go into the field and look, but I dont want to waste much time in unproductive areas. Time is valuable when you like to go 4 wheeling, golf, fish and hunt. Too many hobbies too lil time

The best turkey magnet that I know of is cow pies.
You find a productive cow pie pasture and you will find turkeys.

Lil John is right on. Find the cows and you have found the turkeys.

My other trick is to take a ride around while it is raining out. You will be amazed at how many birds you will see in the fields. For some reason, turkeys seem to migrate to the fields during the rain.

Good luck......................chris

There's worms and other bugs in and under them.

Not much luck at all, I have been going out, but my main purpose is to find some places I can put stands up. I wanna buy a climber for the place you went with us and I am putting a permanent stand behind my pad and my parents. Maybe I will go check out an old shack I know of on top of Black Cambridge, its almost a half a day hike to get to this stand, but it has a lil burner in it to cook or for warmth and a lil bed. Very nice ridge runners up there. Hunting pressure is virtually nonexistent. Anyways, my 1st turkey season was a good one IMO, it was a learning experience. It was frusterating but next season I will be more ready to bag one up north here. I may hunt a few days down south this year though, I am not totally giving up.
