I've got a buddy with a 760 30-06 with a full length barrel. He wants to make it a carbine, but he doesn't want to have the original barrel cut down. He would like to find a carbine barrel for it. Anyone know where he could purchase one?

Personally, I'd sell the 760 and buy a carbine model if he isn't interested in cutting it down, but this is the route he would like to take.

I didn’t look but did he look at Numrich or Brownells?

Ebay has a couple. I'm not sure if there would be any head space issues caused by swapping barrels. For the price of the "used" barrels on Ebay he's probably better off getting it cut down. Or trading for or buying a carbine like he wants.

I agree with the " Buy Another Gun " advice . Now you will have a carbine and a backup gun that you are familiar with.

As the Nike slogan says " Just Do It "

It doesn't make sense to me either, but he asked me to help him find a barrel for it.

He primarily hunts with a T3 lite, but the 760 wears a peep for the inclement weather days.
