Right Place , Right time was the theme this year, never knew where you may spot a buck. Not much time to think about if you should shoot or not for Chase and I.
Up till this hunt, Chase has been very successful. An expensive lesson learner, but this trip may have set up some reality for this young lad. A tough hunt, yes , This being my 9th year and Chases 3rd, by far the lowest deer numbers we have seen during this 4 day hunt. Deer were there but unusually moving early morning before sun up. Warm conditions and plenty of food, Deer did not move very far from cover.
Still a good hunt away with friends. We covered a ton of ground.
Day 1 and 2 were pretty quiet .
Day 3 still at noon we had 4 tags to fill.
At 1330 I took a quick shot at this 8pt along the banks of the beach and on our way back to camp that afternoon , I spotted a spike , Chase passed on him, so I filled my second tag on him. That was it. Chase got a shot at a doe on the last afternoon with no luck.
