I sold a shed last year for $20 per pound. Person was making dog chews with it. She went through the pile I had and that was one.

Looked a little bit the last three mornings, and today did a bigger run of about 120 miles. Most of it was untracked and no one had looked for a week here. May be because it was -20 friday and -26 sat! Moose were active, saw a ton including 3 bulls but all still holding. Nothing this week for me.

Looks like a great day KC. You do that alone? What’s your “oh shit” plan in case of breakdown or some other unforeseen occurrence out there? Cell phone, inReach? I don’t often ride alone even on the active established trails in northern VT, mostly because I just wouldn’t want to walk some of the distances to get to a road crossing in areas with no cell service.

I carry a box of tools and survival gear, but I have an Inreach in case I need help. I try to take it easy when solo on what I get myself into.

Very nice. Love the snow sledding pics. keep them coming when you have time. That country is so quiet and lonely in the winter.

I got my inReach quite a few years ago. Never had an emergency need for fortunately, but always been glad I have it.

I have never had a major emergency, but I feel real comfortable having it with me and a support network locally up there that could help out. I used it two seasons ago hunting where I ended up walking just short of ten miles and was about 3-4 in a straight line from my truck down the backside of a huge mountain. I sent a message to my buddy and he picked me up. When my buddy shot his moose a few years back I sent a message out to our friends that were all across the township and within 15 minutes everyone arrived to help.

Couple photos for big D.

Was planning on leaving Jackman and riding to Caribou and then around the county end of week, but this storm is having me cancel. Too many miles to travel in possible blizzard conditions, won’t be able to make any time.

Was going to head up tomorrow for a few days to look for sheds, but hot weather and chances of rain will be keeping me home. Rain a good thing now, maybe slow down the fire danger

I went once for a couple hours a few weeks ago. All I could squeeze in. Found one.
