Is that the one you sliced your thumb with.I have other knives, but I carry this one 24/7. Use it for everything, even gutting. When it dulls I put a new blade in. Outdoor Edge.View attachment 27993
No, I used a bigger deer butchering knife for that job!Is that the one you sliced your thumb with.
There's two stag handled knives rusted/rusting away in the Forrests of Bow NH that I left next to gut piles and never found again. This is my favorite hunting knife but it doesn’t look quite that nice anymore. I don’t think the guy that made it is still in business but if he was I’d buy another.
I added an orange paracord lanyard with a reflective strip in it so I can find it when I lose it every time I gut a deer and put it down.

I make my own.

they’re not as polished as a knife you would get factory made but I like them to look hand made. Which they are….

X2 on these. I had one with a gut hook on it, but apparently left that near a gut pile with no reflective para cord.Schrade Sharpfinger
The new ones are made in China with lesser quality steel. I picked up a couple of the older ones on eBay last year so my boy now has one. They are small, take a good edge, and are easy to maneuver for gutting and skinning.
