Bill to ban all tree harvesting on Sunday

Anybody else see this? I was just breezing through the outdoor section of the BDN and saw this posted in a link to the Maine Outdoorsman blog. I might be mistaken but it looks like if it passed you couldn't even cut your own firewood on Sunday. Doesn't seem like it has a chance to pass, absurd proposal. Just wondering what you guys may have heard.

Do you guys read just the headlines and look at the pretty pictures like most of the tree huggers in the comment section? Or do you actually read the contents?

Thanks to all for writing in with comments concerning this fictitious satire. This story was written to take a poke at the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine (SWOAM), one of the opponents to opening hunting in Maine on Sunday.

And if you Google the words, "Proposed Public Law 182.b", the top result has a poster who states (and saved me the trouble of looking it up):

This kind of has the feel of a hoax. No self-respecting woodsman would, in truthfulness, profess this sort of crappola.
Further, a quick search of the Legislature's website turned no pending legislation relating to this, so no one has signed on to this point.

A bunch of malarky I tell ya, and it's straining the wheelbarrow full too!
