In the Oak Hickory plain.
Victorinox curved boning knife is one of the best skinning knifes I’ve used. It is very low weight, thin blade, flexible, takes an awesome edge, and the edge is easy to maintain with a steel.

Personally I never head out without a broadsword. But if I am in a hurry I may opt to use my Hammer of Thor, a bit messy but gets the job done.

A sharp one! Have used many, from a cheap pocket knife to one made specifically for the job. It has to cut the hide and fur without getting too dull to unzip the skin from the meat as you pull down. When it gets dull change to another or stop to sharpen it.

Pruning size chainsaw for me, I have found the 20" bar to be excessive, the 12" bar has proven adequate. Been using olive oil in lieu of good ol bar and chain oil, find it saves time when the time comes to toss the back straps in the fry pan - meat is pre-oiled.
