One of my favorite spots to hunt on the Island is the beach...Un explainable to others that have not experienced it.
We head to the Island without any weather hitches. Record time through Maine

First Morning Sunrise

Our side of camp has the Beach first morning....Gary and I head out on wheeler out near the end of the beach, near Pavilion....
We spot number of deer coming and going and this long Main Beam 7 at the Sea weed feast all alone.....
We scope him over pretty good and I decide I'm going to give the 260 Rem a chance at him ,300.5 yards on the rangefinder.
The results were Very Nice...a good beach buck to start the morning, the 260 rem dropped him where he stood.

The friendly Island fox was making short order of the gut pile, this was just after .

After first 7 point was down, Gary and I start cruising the other coves on the beach, up near the Boat, up on the trail we come across Gary's 8 point.

Gary drops him and by 9 am we have 2 bucks down and loaded on the wheeler

Day 1 Video, Anticosti 2012 on the Beach
These Deer were on the beach along with 10-12 others while we were glassing for a shooter, the buck coming off the bank was a good 8, I ended the video cause I turned and look over my shoulder and saw the heavy 7 feeding which you'll see in next video after this vid

We head to meat shack to hang 2 first bucks in the meat shack.
We head back out to beach around Noon. We were both thinking...Oh boy someone is going to be tagged out first day....??? lol
After Still hunting a couple meadows inside from the beach, We are planted back on the beach, not 50 yrds from where I shot first 7 point in the AM.
1330 rolls around after seeing multiple bucks on the beach, I look over my shoulder , down the other direction on the beach and 240 yrds away stands another good beach buck, another 7 point is standing in the way of the 260 Rem. Some real nice bucks and great pictures!! Thanks for posting them. I have always wondered what it was really like up there. Looks like you had great fun.
