It's been a slow season for me in CT. I have 8 sits in so far and have seen 1 doe while walking in to the stand and had a spike and a 6pt come in to me on 10/1. By CT standards this is very slow.
My buddy Jay took a great 170lb 8pt. The drag out SUCKED!

On 10/1 I climbed high up in a tree near a break in a stone wall. This spike and a bigger 6pt came in from behind me feeding on acorns as they were headed to bed for the day. I wasn't gonna be picky, I would take whichever one gave me a good shot. The 6pt fed to the base of my tree never giving me a good shot angle. The spike stopped nearly broadside at 15 yds, decision made. He weighed 118lbs

Yes 2 bucks. Nice deer. Unfortunately I'm not going to get a chance to bow hunt this year. Been busy fishing, my last trip is tomorrow. Friday I'm having hernia surgery . Hope to be able to hunt the rifle opener on 11/17.

We hunt private and state land in Zone 11. We start with 2 doe tags and 2 either sex tags. Every doe shot on private land gets a replacement tag.

Congratulations Shawn! Glad you got one down before the surgery! Hopefully that drag on your buddies buck didn't add to your hernia pain!

Not too shabby for hunting in Oct. Good going and best wishes for the operation. When you pull out that 200 pounder next month, don't re injure yourself..
