    CVA Wolf Muzzle Loader

For what its worth, I purchased one from Walmart the first year they came out. I paid $119. It was a black synthetic stock with Nitride barrel. I have killed 7 or 8 deer with that rifle. My daughter now uses it. My Dad purchased a Wolf last summer. We put a scope on it and it shoots great. For...

    Hunting Cabin

This was posted during the season, but figured I would add it to the cabin thread as it has had a lot of views. We are now able to call the Shamp, a deer camp as Sarah christened it with the first deer kill on the opening day of the 2019 NH muzzleloader season. She killed a nice mature doe that...

    What a weekend!**EDITED**

So after we weighed Sarah's deer and it weighed 106, I was really thinking that the scale was way off. I started talking with other hunters who had weighed their deer at the same place. A couple said they had thought the same and took their deer to another scale. Turns out the scale was off...

    Wool pant options

I also have the LL Bean wool pants in green. They are great! The expanding waist and a rubber type waist band help to keep them in place. As Kingman Cruncher said doesn't help with the cargo pocket requirement.

    Disabled hunter

Have you possibly considered a crossbow? I don't know what kind of yardages or areas you hunt, but for me in NH most open shots are 50 yards and under. I hunt a lot of my bow stands. Just a suggestion. Hope you can get him back out. Please thank him for his service from me.

    Christmas Knives 2019

That's awesome! Very fortunate that you found it. When I was 13 years old, my Dad bought me an Old Timer. Nice little knife. The following season, he had it with him and they gutted a deer next to a brook. He forgot the knife in the brook or next to it and that puppy was lost forever. Another...

    Christmas Knives 2019

Thank you all for the kind words. I dabble in a lot of things. Learning what I can do well and what needs work. It is all a means to an end. Trying to set myself up for when I hit 62. I want to retire then and I will have plenty of things to do to make some extra $$. That is only 16 short years...

    Christmas Knives 2019

Finished up three more knives for early Christmas gifts. All my knives are made from 1095 High Carbon steel. I cut them out and grind the primary bevel then hand polish to 600 grit. Heat treat them and fit the handle scales. They then go off to my buddy who etches my makers mark into the blades...

    Cold firearms opener! Brrrr!

Seems weird to be sitting at work today. But, I was fortunate enough to get it done with the muzzleloader. Letting the dogs out at 230 am this morning, I was kind of glad that I did get him during muzzy season. Good luck everyone!
