    Paying it forward

Over the years I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge from this site, and I’m thankful for that. I was rummaging around in my parts cabinet this morning and came across these items that I thought some of you on here may find useful. First is a Weaver 1-3x20 scope. It spent a short time on my...

    7600 Makeover

Sounds like a great project. I just want to add that along with the barrel, receiver and action tube the slide rails and bolt carrier also got cerakoted.

    7600 Makeover

You know I was a little concerned about that but it did not affect it at all. If anything it almost feels a tad smoother!

    7600 Makeover

I wish my eyes were better, I’d leave it with open or peep sights instead of scoping it. Carried my 20 gauge youth 870 rabbit hunting today. Virtually the same dimensions as the 7600 carbine and has a matte, Cerakote like finish on it. Felt so nice in my hands!

    7600 Makeover

Well I got my 7600 back from Kevin and I couldn’t be more happy with it. New Kick-Eez recoil pad, stock refinished and all the metal black Cerakoted. $260 for the job, and this 17 year old gun looks like new again. No scope on it yet. I’d planned on a VX-3 2.5-8x36 but the price went way up on...

Don’t Buy Marlin Rifles Made By Remington & Don’t Ship Through Fedex

Mounted a Nikon ProStaff 2-7x32 I had laying around. Removed the iron sights and installed the hammer spur that came with it. The mount is a DNZ Game Reaper, second one I’ve used, very rugged feeling and easy to install. Soon as the snow melts I’ll see how she shoots. It feels and looks pretty good!

    Magazine springs

So the top of the spring slides into what is called the follower. That’s the piece you see when you look at the magazine from the top. The bent in lips of the magazine hold the follower, and spring underneath it, in place. To disassemble it push down on the follower, tip it to one side and...

    Magazine springs

No, I don’t. I tossed out the broken springs. The springs are a single flat piece of steel, just slightly narrower than the magazine body and they are “Z” shaped. Both broke right at the lower sharp angle of the Z. Hope that explanation helps!

    Western Mass deer hunting

A buddy and I have travelled down to Mass from northern and central VT to hunt for the last 7 years. We do both shotgun and MZ seasons. I really enjoy hunting down there, we see a lot of deer and there’s hardly any pressure on the public land we hunt. We are more central than west, and not far...

    The Shot

Me and my buddy were able to get our first shots yesterday. Now I’ve got to start looking for somewhere to get it for my wife. She’s 64 so can’t sign up right now...

    Snow/Weather Check

Probly 18-20” still on the ground here at 2200’ in southeastern Caledonia county in VT. Once you head down in elevation it drops fast. Some places I groom on our trail system below 1500’ have maybe 10”.

    The Shot

I’m 59 and was glad to get an email from the VA yesterday. They’re doing a couple walk-in clinics in my area giving the first shot to vets 55 and older who are enrolled in their healthcare. I’ll be in line Wednesday morning at 9am, hope I can get one.
